Renowned composer from cult-band Goldfrapp, Will Gregory is performing exclusively for this year's Bath International Music Festival. His new piece of music is inspired by British tennis ace, Tim Henm an, an d will accompany dramatically slowed-down film footage of Henman in match play during key games on the ATP tour circuit.
The music features a radically new orchestra of nine monophonic synthesizers and includes a line up of synth virtuosi from around the country including Django Bates, Adrian Utley (from the band Portishead), and composer Graham Fitkin. The film has been created in collaboration with film-maker, Rick Holbrook.
The first half of this concert will be an homage to Wendy (Walter) Carlos's Switched-On Bach. The new chamber ensemble will bring their own electro-acoustic style to Bach's much-loved Brandenberg Concerti in a riveting live performance. Tickets are available from Bath Festivals Box Office priced £10 each.
Tickets: 01225 463362 www.bathmusicfest.org.uk
