UNION-TRIBUNE

February 3, 2005

CARLSBAD – Rock legend Jimi Hendrix tested the limits of electric guitar by manipulating distortion and feedback with his Fender Stratocaster.

A Stratocaster is one of more than a dozen instruments in the "Hands-on the Future" interactive exhibit. The public can play each instrument in the exhibit while wearing headphones and following tutorials.

A Moog Ethernet [sic] theremin autographed by Bob Moog is included in the display.

"Moog is the great-granddaddy of the modern synthesizer," said B.J. Morgan, marketing manager at the museum.
