Ulver
Ulver (Norwegian for �wolves�) is a band that does everything. Except hope. No matter whether the former black metal warriors and singer Kristoffer �Garm� Rygg perform with guttural screams and double bass drum storms or sing string-filled arias, whether they play heavyweight dope beats full of buzzing electronics or fading funeral songs on the piano: Ulver is the only band in the world, that you can idolise as a Portishead fan, just as much as if you are a Slayer fan. And their attitude remains the same, just as Rygg said three years ago at the launch of their last album, �Shadows Of The Sun�: �Nature is pretty fucking depressing, we are all here to die.�
