The Harrison Instruments 302 Theremin

I have been playing this theremin since late last December after playing the Etherwave standard for 11 years. I haven't played the Etherwave since then. It took about two weeks to make the transition to the horizontal plate antenna playing technique and another week to get as proficient at it as with the pole antenna techniques. It operates on a 9 volt battery and the battery life is 24 hours plus.

The theremin operates on a 9 volt battery, has a full range, is highly portable and far easier to play than vertical pole antenna theremins.

The pianist shouts at the thereminist: "I tried to play for you on the white keys. Then I tried to play for you on the black keys. BUT I CAN'T PLAY BETWEEN THE KEYS!"

Could you open this instrument, take a high res pic and mail it to theremin(at)tfrenkel(dot)com?

This could help me in identifying the circuit.

Well, the enthusiasm is to be applauded, but it always gives me a laugh when people have a theremin for five minutes, then think they're an expert. Would this guy have even considered doing this if he'd just bought a piano? I doubt it.

Hmmm.. this is a new one on me. Is it possible that perhaps this is a repackaged theremin from another manufacturer?

Anyone happen to know if any Moog designs were ever sold under any other brand names?

In 1966 Kustom produced a black tuck and roll Theremin. It is an exceedingly rare item. Mine has drifted out of tune. I was wondering if anyone happens to know the proper proceedure for tuning the coils?

As a historian, I'm interested in knowing from where Homer Henly's, May 20, 1932 information came. Could someone provide me with a citation for this information so I could look it up?

Thanks.

For clarification, the man standing over the rhythmicon in the photograph is Joseph Schillinger, NOT Henry Cowell.

Gerry Mulligan is listed as a student of Schillinger's. As far as I know, Mulligan might have studied the Schillinger system, but he did not study privately with Schillinger himself.
